Infrastructure Bill Ends the ERC Early for Most Employers

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (signed 11/15/2021) generally ended the Employee Retention Credit for Q4 2021, except for certain “recovery startup businesses.”

Employers that reduced payroll deposits in anticipation of Q4 ERC should review IRS guidance and consider penalty relief/repayment mechanics where applicable.
